What we collect, and why

• Your email address — the only thing an account is. We use passwordless sign-in (a magic link emailed to you), so we never hold a password for you.
• Your garden — the résumés, cover letters, practice answers, applications, and progress you create in Career Seed. It lives in your browser's local storage first. If you sign in, an encrypted-in-transit copy syncs to our servers so you can pick up on another device.
• Usage receipts — when you use an AI feature we record that a request happened (feature, time, model, token counts) so we can meter fairly and keep costs honest. These receipts are content-free: they do not contain your résumé, your answers, or the AI's reply.
• Purchase records — what you bought and the entitlements it granted, so your seeds are always yours. Payment details never touch us (see Payments below).
• Feedback — notes you send through the feedback door are anonymous by default; they're tied to your account only if you explicitly say so when sending.

We do not run third-party analytics or advertising trackers. There is one cookie: a secure session cookie that keeps you signed in.

AI processing

When you ask for a score, a practice interview, or the Arborist's help, the specific material needed for that request (for example, your résumé text and the job description) is sent to an AI model to produce the answer. These calls run through Cloudflare's AI infrastructure to models from providers such as Anthropic. Request and response content logging is disabled on our AI routes for career-sensitive material — what stays behind on that path is the content-free receipt described above.

One distinction worth naming: things you keep — including your saved Arborist conversation, which lives in your garden so you can pick it back up — sync to your account like the rest of your garden when you're signed in. They're part of your data, covered by export and deletion like everything else.

Your career data is not used by us to train AI models.

Payments

Checkout is handled entirely by Stripe. Your card number, billing address, and payment credentials go directly to Stripe and never pass through or get stored on Career Seed's servers. We receive back a receipt: what was bought, and a reference so we can grant what you paid for.

Email

We send email for sign-in links, purchase receipts, and things you directly ask for. Delivery runs through Resend, our email provider. No marketing lists you didn't join, and nothing that can't be walked away from.

Export and deletion — the whole point

• Export: from Settings you can download everything you've made, anytime.
• Delete: from Settings you can delete your account. This removes your garden, your history, your ledger of entitlements, your sessions, and your usage receipts from our servers — the same sweep, every time, no support ticket required. What's on your own device stays under your control.

Retention

Signed-in data stays as long as your account does. Delete the account and the server-side copy goes with it. Sign-in tokens expire in minutes; sessions expire in days. During the beta, test data may occasionally be reset — export anything you want to keep.

Who we share with

The short list, and only to run the product: Cloudflare (hosting, storage, AI routing), Stripe (payments), Resend (email), and AI model providers (to answer the requests you make). We don't sell or rent personal data to anyone, and we don't share it for advertising. We would disclose data if legally compelled to, and we'd tell you unless the law forbids it.

Children

Career Seed is for people navigating careers and isn't directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age where you live).

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll say so plainly on this page and update the date at the top. We won't quietly weaken it.
